Macro contest 1
I'll be running 7 macro images in the next 7 days. Try and guess what the items I'm shooting are. First one to comment the right answer gets a point. Most points by the end of the 7 posts will get an 8x12 print of your choice from either the blog pics or my Flickr page. G'luck! Let's hope I have at least a few readers. ;)

urban sunset
Last shot after bowling, but before grocery shopping. The Focus isn't tack sharp because I'm shooting through a less than clean and tinted van window. Nothing's sharp, really. Some motion blur on th walker also. but the backlit scene with the car reflections was appealing to me.

lunar
I did not have the chance to photograph the moon, last night, partly because of the cold, and partly because of my lack of lens that reaches beyond 55mm. Plus, I know someone who took a much better picture than I would've.
Please visit Daily Dose of Imagery for an amazing shot of the Lunar Eclipse.

mug
Me. Boring Saturday afternoon. New lens. Two strobes.
I just got myself a 50mm 1.8 lens. Oh sweet bokeh. It is sharp as a katana, yet yields the softest bokeh 6 inches behind the focus plane @1.8. And at 149.99$ CAD, there is no excuse not to have one. I'll be havin fun with it for a little while. I'll keep you guys posted.

I'm back, with green ice.
Sorry about the rapidly expanding hiatus. The ECMA project was quite the bit of work, to be honnest, and dragged on for longer than expected. Now I'm rested and have rekindled my urge to shoot, I will hopefully resume the once-a-day pace at which I used to post.
The tip of this icicle was barely an inch away from the macro contraption I used to take the other macro shot I took in January. What seems to be transluscent ice turned up to be simply filled with air bubbles. I should've added an object for scale. Well, actually, let me add another picture that used the same setup, to give you an idea.
Yep, that's a quarter.
